SEESOFT

The shifting layer concept

SEESOFT works because of its unique layer-shifting construction. The highly impact-resistant blend of nitrile and polynorbornene rubber results in a memory foam that is multi-impact rated and CE-certified to the highest level.

02 » Shifting layers absorb and disperse impact energy

03 » Impact release; protector returns to its natural state and is ready for the next impact

Multi-impact protection technology

Revolutionary from the get-go, SEESOFT protectors offer multi-impact protection thanks to a unique shifting layer concept, performing at the highest level.

In case of severe angular impact, the individual memory foam layers will shift relative to one another, resulting in impact dispersion over a larger surface area. As a result, less energy gets transferred while the limited amount that does get through is distributed over the surface. This unique way of taking care of impact protection set the bar very high thanks to the intention behind SEESOFT: offering the highest level of protection when needed, while offering maximum comfort when riding.

Comfort, flexibility and ventilation

With back and chest protectors covering a big part of your body, ventilation is crucial in keeping things dry and comfortable at all times. SEESOFT protectors are therefore perforated to allow moisture to wick away from the body and for airflow to enter. The memory foam makes sure your body can twist and turn in its natural way when riding, allowing full freedom of movement for maximum comfort.

Easy to upgrade tailored to fit

All REV’IT! jackets and overshirts are prepared for our SEESOFT back protector insert. On the back protector insert pocket inside every garment, you will find which size and style fits perfectly. This system is in place to make sure you have the ideal balance between protection and comfort at all times.

SEESOFT back protector insert

Fitting the SEESOFT back protector insert into your jacket is easy by following four simple steps:

01 » Check the marking on the garment’s protector pocket to determine the correct type and size of SEESOFT protector needed.

02 » Carefully fold the protector in order to fit it into its corresponding pocket. Attention: make sure the back protector is oriented with its widest sheet of foam placed closest to the wearer’s body.

03 » Insert the (slightly folded) protector into the open Velcro closure of the back protector pocket. The protector should fill out the entire pocket.

04 » Make sure to securely close the pocket with the Velcro after inserting the SEESOFT protector.

SEESOFT divided chest protector insert

Being newer to the market than its back protector relatives, the number of REV’IT! products prepared for our SEESOFT divided chest protector is limited - but growing. If your jacket or one-piece suit is prepared, you will find a chest protector pocket clearly marked on the inside on both sides of the zipper. Installing the divided chest protector is easy, as you can see below.

01 » Check the label / print inside the garment to determine the correct type and size of SEESOFT protector. Open the protector pocket.

02 » Carefully fold the chest protector and insert it through the opening; the largest layer of SEESOFT foam should face the user. The protector should fill the entire pocket.

03 » Make sure to securely close the protector pocket after inserting the SEESOFT protector.

Let’s drop it

The so called “drop test” from the EN1621-2:2014 back protection standard determines whether or not a back protector passes the strict norm to achieve the CE marking. Products must pass tests conducted under two conditions: at ambient temperature and at high humidity. To know if a protector has passed a test, and under what level, you can check for the CE-marking on the product. The EN1621-2:2014 back protection standard includes two levels of protection.

CE-level 1

The first level of protection acknowledged by CE provides the standard level of protection. This means the peak force measured at the center of the “Zone of Protection” shall not exceed a single strike value of 24 Kilo Newtons (kN) and the overall mean value shall not exceed 18kN.

CE-level 2

All SEESOFT back protectors are certified as CE-level 2. They offer increased performance over CE-level 1, aimed at riders who feel their riding style exposes them to an increased level of risk. CE-level 2 protectors must absorb twice as much energy from an impact as CE-level 1 protectors, meaning the residual forces measured at the inside of the protector during the drop test need to be much lower in order to acclaim the CE-Level 2 certification. The peak force measured at the center of the “Zone of Protection” cannot exceed a single strike value of 12kN, and the overall mean cannot exceed 9kN.

The divided chest protectors

The SEESOFT multi-layer divided chest protectors are certified according to the EN1621-3:2016 chest protector norm. They are certified as CE-level 1, meaning it performs within the CE-level 1 range of energy transmission, which ensures the measured residual energy after the drop test remains below 18kN.
